1. Jorge Arce has challenged Israel Vasquez????? Apparently Arce has told his promoter, Bob Arum of Top Rank, to make this fight happen. Arce plans to fight on May 17 in Mexico and again in August to prepare for Vasquez. Then if all goes accordingly Arce and Vasquez will fight in November.2. Humberto Soto has gotten back in the win column with a 6th round TKO over Carlos Urias. Plans are for Soto to challenge IBF Super Featherweight Champion Mzonke Fana on May 17.
3. Golden Boy Promotions will promote their first fight card in the Philippines on April 6. The card will take place at the Araneta Coliseum with “INVASION: Philippines vs. The World. WBO World Bantamweight Champion Gerry Penalosa (52-6, 35 KOs), who will defend his belt in a rematch against former champ Ratanachai Sor Vorapin (71-9, 47 KOs), of Thailand will be the main event.
