WBO Featherweight Champion Steven Luevano defeated Terdsak Jandaeng in a battle of two southpaws. Luevano was dropped in the 4th round but for most of the fight he controlled the fight and picked his shots. Scores were 118-109, 119-109, 119-109.
David Diaz had a harder than expected fight against Ramon Montano in a 10 round non-title bout. However Diaz pulled through and won a MD, scores were 95-95, 99-91, 97-93. Diaz, fulfilled his part of the deal for a future summer fight with Manny Pacquiao, by beating Montano. Time will soon tell what Pacquiao gets done tonight.
NABO bantamweight titleholder Abner Mares had no trouble getting rid of Diosdado Gabi. Gabi was supposed to be a tough test for Mares on paper, but that is where the toughness ended. Mares dropped Gabi twice in the 2nd round and the fight was stopped at :49 of the 2nd round.
