1. According to an interview on Boxingtalk.com, Roy Jones Jr. says the fight with him and Joe Calzaghe is a done deal. The announcement is coming real soon. They are trying to figure out if they are going to fight September 20 or November 15. Septemeber 20 appears to be the date that the fight is going to happen. Also Jones broke ties with Don King in order to get this deal completed. He went on to say he would be willing to fight Samuel Peter after he beats Joe Calzaghe.2. It is official, Nonito Donaire, has signed with Top Rank. Donaire will be fighting Jose Navarro on the undercard of the Miguel Cotto-Antonio Margarito fight. With this move, Donaire has set himself to get a chance to fight in big money fights against Fernando Montiel and Jorce Arce, both of whom are also signed with Top Rank.
3. Once again it is OFF!!!! The already rescheduled WBA Heavyweight Championship fight between Ruslan Chagaev and Nikolai Valuev is off again after Chagaev completely tore his Achilles Tendon in his left ankle. The injury happened when Chagaev was sparring. Since this fight has been delayed again, look for the WBA to hold an interim title fight for Valuev and an opponent to be named, possibly John Ruiz.
