Oh Sh*t, Evander Holyfield Is Broke????

Not long ago I wrote that Evander Holyfield was being sued for a loan he had not paid to a Utah Construction company for $550,000. The money was to do some landscaping at his property in Fayette County, GA. Anyway, more financial issues are following Holyfield and they ain't pretty. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution has reported that the mother of Holyfield's ten year old son filed a petition claiming Holyfield has missed two child support payments equal to about $6000 total. Then it is said that Holyfield's $10 million estate in Fayette County, GA, the one where the landscaping was done but not paid for, is under foreclosure and set to be auctioned by Washington Mutual Bank on July 1. Damn I hope these are all misunderstandings, but that is hard to believe. Holyfield has made probably well over $100 million in the boxing ring. Many always wondered why he kept fighting. Holyfield said he fought because he wanted to be Undisputed Heavyweight Champion again, but it appears finances were the bigger part of it. Plus at this stage of his career, even if he keeps fighting the $20 million paydays are gone. I guess the best thing to do to help Holyfield is purchase his book Becoming Holyfield. I purchased it, read it, and reviewed it on the blog. The link to that review is http://thetruthfrom1pound4pound.blogspot.com/2008/04/becoming-holyfield-1pound4pounds-review.html. To Evander, I will pray for you my Christian brother.
